Happy Halloween!
Oh what a weekend! As you can see by the plethera of photos below I had a wonderful weekend. Alyssa my best friend from college came to visit from Chicago. Thursday night was our big school dance, "Fall Ball". The ball is a combination semi-formal slash costume party, with a lot of free alcohol for those who partake, which inevitably results in a rather-intersting and good-picture taking evening. Alyssa and I, along with my law school friend Trish, went to the Ball as "homegrown girls", stereo-typical midwestern types (or as we liked to put it, what everything who lives on the East Coast thinks the Midwest is really like) It was fun to embrace the stereotypes, don some heavy eye-makeup a pair of cowboy boots, and have a good time. Our t-shirts (pics below) are custom made from neighborhoodies and will be making regular appearances in our wardrobes. Friday & Saturday Alyssa and I explored the city (more pictures soon, once Lyss gets them uploaded) we attended a jewelry sample sale, ate a yummy breakfast, discount shopped, ate hot dogs, and generally enjoyed each other's company. Alyssa left early Sunday morning :(. Her departure left me time to go Pumpkin Picking with my friends from school. We took the train to Conneticut, where my friend Carina's family lives and went picking at the Jones Family Farm. It was incredible to be out in the country, see the fall colors, and enjoy the fresh air. Picking was followed by a yummy lunch and carving on the Schoenberger's back porch. I returned home with a beautiful (if a little traditional and non-creative) jack-o-lantern. It was a wonderful weekend.
I hope you are all well and are enjoying your Halloween!
