OMG!! I'm FAMOUS!

or not...but my Administrative Law class is going to be on national television...either Wed, Thur, or Friday we will be on the 8:oopm (eastern) show on CNN. Apparently, one of my classmates is pretty cool, and helped with some foudation or something, so check me out if you are watching CNN, I sit right by her.

Other than that, life here has been routine, work work and lots of work. I have accepted a summer job at the Minnesota State Public Defender's office, Appellate Division. I will be helping to research and write briefs for the Court of Appeals. It should be an amazing experience. I'm excited to be back in the midwest. I will be living with my sister and bro-in-law, as well as my beautiful neices. My nephew will be born in early June, so I will be able to be in town for his birth, which I'm super excited about!

I hope you all are well!

Lots of love,
Nicole Renee

Sister Time!!!!

This weekend my big sister Andrea visited NYC. It was her first time in the city and we had a great time (despite my forced servitude of her feet in walking all over the town.) Andrea arrived on Friday, we spent the afternoon in Central Park (somewhat less exciting in the winter, the main highlight was VERY ugly orange pylons) and visitng the Met. Friday night we went out for a fantastic meal at Nino's on the upper-East side, good Italian, and good Italian company to keep us entertained. Saturday was spent roaming 5th avenue, touring the NBC studios (super interesting) and gorging ourselves on yummy ice cream that cost WAY to much. Saturday night we joined some of my girlfriends at APT a very, very trendy bar in the meat-packing district. My friends were extremely impressed by how hip my 36 year old pregnant sister was (see pics) Sunday we were touristy and hit up the Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island. Monday was spent shopping in SoHo. It was so good to have Andrea in town, and share a little of my life with her. I look forward to many more visits in the future.

Love you all!

Holy Blogger Bot!

So it has been a while since I have updated my blog (thanks for the reminder Dusty). I said that I had nothing to blog about but then I realized I have a TON to blog about! Life here has been busy and exciting since I returned to NYC. It has been very difficult to get back into the swing of school. My reading for my classes has been very interesting (Torts, Property and Law of the Administrative State) but classes themselves have been fairly boring. I'm hanging in there though. We just finished a simulated negotiation project, negotiating about a failed pool contract in the Hampton's. I did well and really learned that I enjoy negotiation. I also was happy to know that my sales skills from last year were good for something :) The guy I negotiated against was also a former sales rep - we had quite the meeting.

Other than studying I have been having WAY too much fun since returning to NYC. Some of my exciting events include having dinner at two of New York's best restaurants (thanks to good, wealthy friends - Jean George's (French - I ate caviar - can you believe it ;0) and Babbo (8 courses of pasta, can you say Heaven!!!!), dancing at a very exclusive club, Cielo, hosting a girls night and cooking for (count em) 12 people, and attending apartment parties like I am back in college. My classmates from lawyering (my small class) threw a party on Friday night. The theme was 1492 (in honor of our property class where we are reading cases about property rights derived from 1492). Yes, we REALLY are that dorky. It was supposed to be a costume party, but other than Andy who dressed in knickers, the most exciting costuming was mass amounts of random head gear.

My sister Andrea is coming to town on Friday and I am looking forward to it....so look for another update soon.

Love ya all!!!!!
