It's All About the Cooking

Wow! It has been a very long time since I have blogged :) It seems as nothing too interesting is going on in my life so you will have to bear with me :) The last couple of months have been quite hectic - I went back to Iowa for a family emergency, my Aunt Amy passed away, it was (is) really tough, but I was glad to be home with my family. Shortly after returning I went to Minnesota for a weekend to see my ladies! My Mom was there as well and it was nice to hang out with everyone. Since I've returned I've been trying to get into the swing of things with school and my internship. The most exciting things that have happened in my life in the last month are as follows (and in no particular order).

1. I FINALLY got my grades from last semester - and overall I was pleased.

2. I got my room assignment for next year. I will be living with my friend Lily, in our building, but in an apartment with a remodeled kitchen. The nice new kitchen completely changes the look/feel of the apartment and I am so grateful that I won't have to look at ugly orange counters any more!!

3. When I was in MN I went shopping with my friend Cassandra and bought very nice, new, knives for my kitchen! I realize this is a silly thing to be excited about but they made me happier than any purchase in a long time!

Other than that, I've been cooking a lot (as you can tell from my dorky pictures of my food below) and loving it. I thank Emerald (this might be your second shout out in the blog - at least) for all her inspiration and advice, my Mom for always answering the phone when I have questions, and Alyssa for my wonderful subscription to Rachael Ray Everyday magazine.
