I Heart Quinn Emanuel!!!!!!

Approximately 63 interviews, 5 fancy dinners, and multiple coctail parties later...I am happy to announce that I have officially survived the interview process, but I have come out the other side with a job offer than I am ECSTATIC about! Yesterday I received an offer from Quinn Emanuel, a litigation boutique known for being incredible trial lawyers (they send their attorney's (even the young ones) to court - a lot - which is very unusual in today's legal world). It is my very very very top choice job and I am THRILLED with the opportunity. I'm exhausted from interviewing and glad to know that I have a great offer. If you are interested in learning more about the firm check it out at www.quinnemanuel.com. So, it looks like I will be staying in NY for the foreseeable future. I haven't officially accepted yet, but i plan on doing so.

I will be in Minneapolis for the next week for interviews and family stuff. I fly in Friday - plan on being there through Thursday and then drive to Des Moines for my baby cousins wedding. If you live in the Midwest give me a call! Let's hang!

Love ya all!

Thw World Should Always Consist of 4 Day Weekends

I hope everyone enjoyed there weekend. I know that I did. I think that I am denial that school has started. I would much rather spend my time playing in the city. This weekend reminded me of why I love New York (and why I'm so glad that Jersey (read trees & grass & backyards) is only a 20 minute train ride away). The weekend really started on Thursday with our Law School (we are Dorks) Student Bar Association party...it was good to see everyone again. Friday was laid back with a trip to China Town for yummy soup dumplings. Unfourtanetly there are no pictures of me trying to negotiate the dumpling which when it is pierced drips copious amount of soup into your spoon into my mouth without making a HUGE mess. The challenge was increased by the fact that I was dining with my Asian friends and forced to use chopsticks....my skills are lacking in that area. Saturday I went to a party at the MOMA's PS1 (used to be a public school, then a place where they stored modern art, and now a pseudo gallery) Apparently it's the place to be on Saturday's, with an out-door party complete with a very good d.j., and access to the gallery (all very, very modern art which I fail to understand). It was fun to dance in the middle of the day with all of New Yorkers finest hipsters. Saturday night Jenny and Dana and I tried on hideous clothing, we took pictures, see below. Monday I turned 8 - and celebrated by attending a party in New Jersey. For those of y'all in the Midwest that might not sound exciting, but let me tell you, Jersey has grass, streets that don't have 2 million taxis on them, sky, and fresh air. It was heaven on earth.

Now it's back to the grind....I start the process of callback interviews now - Chicago this weekend for Kirland & Ellis, Minneapolis the weekend of the 24th for Dorsey & Whitney & Robbins Kaplan - a bunch of New York firms in between. Oh, and at some point, I have to study. Although, as my friend Carina argues, law school is really just a placement service for jobs, so sometimes it seems silly to actually do the work ;) (Don't worry, Dad, I'm studying). Speaking of, gotta get back to it.

Love ya all!
